Behind the arched gate
Uzeniny z dědiny (“smoked goods from the village”) is Lukáš Moucha’s butcher’s and smokehouse. In business since 2014, he built his workshop in Starovice with local craftsmen and opened it in March 2020. In his view, every village, not just every person, should have its own butcher.
How the smoked meat is made
- Meat from Czech farmsPork is cut up fresh every day, and the salami is made from Czech beef and pork.
- Brine and old recipesThe meat is cured in brine to traditional recipes, and part of the work is done by hand, “the old way”.

Can we bring our dog?
Sorry, no. Pets aren’t allowed in the house.
What’s the minimum group size and stay?
You pay for at least 6 people and the minimum stay is 2 nights, or 4 nights over Easter. The house sleeps up to 12.OvěřitKapacita 12 vs. 4–10 osob podle e-chalupy. Single-night stays aren’t possible.
When do we arrive and leave?
Arrival is between 5 and 7 pm, arranged by phone, and departure is by 10 am.
What’s included in the price?
Energy, waste collection, cleaning and the tourist tax. Also bedding, bath towels, robes for the hot tub, soap, toilet paper, a hairdryer, tea and spices. Only the hot tub and the bar with beer tap cost extra.
How do we pay, and what if we cancel?
Your booking is confirmed once you pay a 50% deposit within 3 days; the balance is due 14 days before your stay. If you cancel less than 14 days ahead, the deposit is non-refundable. A refundable security deposit of 5,000 CZK is paid in cash on arrival.
Where do we park? Can we charge an electric car?
There’s room for 3–4 cars in front of and behind the house. Charging electric cars at the house is strictly forbidden. Bikes can be kept under the shelter in the courtyard.
We have small children. What’s provided?
A playpen and toys on request, and a swing in the courtyard. Guests also mention a step stool, a potty and a child’s toilet seat in their reviews. A child who doesn’t need a bed costs 450 CZK per night, by arrangement.
Can we smoke in the house?
No, the house is non-smoking.
Where can we shop and eat out?
The COOP shop in Starovice is 500 metres from the house, and Kaufland is 2.3 km away. Starovice has the Picérka pod Kaštanem pizzeria, and there are more restaurants in Hustopeče, 3 km away.
Can we celebrate or hold a company event here?
